The light object is built from two main parts that are connected as a whole concept.
The outer part, white construction that resembles a cocoon is made out of white lycra that is stretched over metal construction. It is lit from the inside giving a feeling of glowing, lightness, flowing, softness, and tenderness.
The inside part is a rectangular prism that is in looks as well as feels in total contrast to the outside space. Inside is covered in black with violet line light. It sends feelings of anxiety, and darkness, ... this feeling is emphasized with uncomfortable inorganic music.
One side of this space is intended to be interactive. It is a big collage of images that represent current social, cultural, and political problems mostly in Slovenia. In the beginning, it is covered with black paint, and visitors are encouraged to slowly scrape the paint off to see the lighten from behind the collage. By doing so more and more light comes to this dark space. The intent is to also “shine a light” on the current problems of our surroundings, to ignite conversations about these topics, while scraping the paint or after the interaction with the whole installation.
