Zastiranja (ang. Coverings) is a site-specific project with the main idea of connecting the stories and lives of people who spent time in the Tezno tunnels in the 1940s and the interpretation of their stories through concrete-textile installation.
The project idea puts people in the foreground, a man who spent every day in the tunnels and the importance of each individual. However, this may not be the case for people during the time they spend underground. The research idea rests on these individuals. Through the composition of concrete clothes and textiles, the authors combine the individual's human presence in the tunnels and the importance of remembering.
The project is based on the idea of people who spent their time between the suspended ceilings of these tunnels. The desire is to visualize the essence of people and to create a sense of their physical presence in the spaces of the tunnels, while at the same time evoking frozenness in time and their stories below the surface of our world.
